September is here and all the fall fun is coming soon!!! Celebration Sunday is September 13th at 10 am, make sure you add it to your calendars!
Also, if you ordered a welcome shirt, make sure you grab it! They are all in the cafe! There is a clipboard with the order list so look for your name and check it off when you get yours please!!!

Trader Joes
Yeah, you read that subtitle right! I love a good Trader Joes trip! Their cashiers are always so kind and chatty and I often walk away thinking about it.
Well, I was reading about their employee training and now I know why I always have good conversations there! They are trained to ask questions that actually start conversations because there aren't normal responses. Instead of "How are you doing?" or "How was your week?" they ask things like "What are you doing for the rest of the day?" or questions about the products like "What are you making with these?" or "Have you tried this before?" Sorry if that ruins the magic of Trader Joes for anyone hahaha. 😂
So challenge for us - think about how you can ask questions that start a conversation! I love the "What are you doing for the rest of the day?" example. If it is someone new, you could ask "What brought you to JFM?" I love this one too because it applies even if they have been here for years and you just never met them! Another great one for after service - "What stood out to you from the sermon?" You can turn this into a conversation even if you haven't made it in to hear the sermon yet yourself!
Also this goes for ALL our connections teams! We have certain spots (like long donut lines or the front doors during a rainstorm!) that we need to keep things moving, but most of our roles allow us to step aside and actually have conversations with people!

1. Download the JFM app.
2. Click the profile icon in the top right to sign-in!
3. After you do that, click the message icon at the top to open messaging.
4. If you click "discover" you will be able to see & search all the different groups!
- Right now, our cafe team, next steps team, and welcome team have a group!
- Coffee & Safety team, y'all will still use your current communications, but you can join the welcome team group if you want that option for staying updated!
